Alcos coil packaging lines are designed to increase the productivity of your slitting line and
reduce your packaging costs. Equipment can be very flexible and specifically tailored for your requirements. Standard designs range from manual or semiautomatic to fully automatic with a fully automatic strapping machine.
Packaging lines can be fully integrated with the slitter or can be remotely located with transfer of slit material by coil car. Alcos packaging lines can include some or all of the following components:
Coil Car - with or without clamps to prevent narrow slit cuts from falling over, collapsing or clock springing.
Turnstile - in one, two, three or four arm configuration. Generally these are power rotated. Push off designs use Alcos proven pusher mechanism.
Downenders - may accept cuts pushed off the turnstile or for critical applications
the downender can be indexed into the cut to pick it up with no lost cuts. Downenders may be manual, semi automatic, or fully automatic.
Strapping Machines - use proven strapping heads which operate semi automatically, or which can be programmed for full automatic operation. For high volume
applications, multiple heads can be provided.
Coil Stacker - Picks the banded coil up after it is transferred by
powered conveyor rolls from the strapping machine. OD pickup simplifies the operation. No pit is required for the
stacker. An Alcos stacker has a very short cycle time. Coils can be stacked with or
without spacers.
Turntable - stacked coil turntables provide accumulation
capacity in six or eight positions and allows splitting on different skids from a single master coil. Selection of stacking position can be manual or
programmed automatic.
Skid Strapping - a rotating rugged conveyor section provides easy strapping access for securing slit coils to the skid. The rotating
action also makes it very easy to apply wrappings.
Scale - can be built in to a powered section of conveyor, mounted over either a balance scale or with built in load cells. This can be
tied into printers or directly into computerized systems.
Storage Conveyor - heavy duty powered roller conveyor stores skids of slit coils until they are removed from the system.
Coil Upender - used where edge horizontal shipment is required. The powered coil upender can be incorporated to rotate the slit
coils 90°.
Alcos packaging lines can be provided to match the capacity of your slitting line. Our designs are rugged to minimize
maintenance needed and extremely compact to minimize floor space requirements.
