IN-LINE SHAPE CORRECTION &
STRIP TENSION SYSTEMS

ALCOS can provide our “Flexroll” Shape Correction System to enable in line shape correction to the slit strands before rewinding. The system is available in various configurations. Each type involves “working” the material to reduce or remove deformation, strip camber, and edge burr while simultaneously elongating the shorter strands. Work rolls can be removed for cleaning or maintenance using the optional roll cassette injector system.

A Multi colored Graphic Control System is used to control and accurately position the leveler rolls and indicate the amount of work roll penetration.

The line utilizes both the ALCOS “Combi” Strip Tension System and the ALCOS multi-stage “Flexroll” Strip Shape Correction System to enable simultaneous shape correction during slitting.

The ALCOS “Combi Strip Tension System” utilizes a drag pad for the “oily” materials, and a pair of non-marking covered rolls for the surface critical materials. The roll system is equipped with a convenient “one point lift-off” feature to rapidly interchange the rolls. Various types of rolls can be used including “Scotch-Brite”™ or polyurethane rolls with different hardness and plain or diced surfaces to suit the type of material and customer
preference.

This system can be simplified to either a “Drag Pad” or “Poly Roll” unit only.
